Die Stationen sollen verschiedene Umweltinformationen (Feinstaubniveau, Temperatur, Luftfeuchtigkeit, Lärmbelastung, …) in Echtzeit liefern, die allen zur Verfügung stehen.

-Funkfeuer Graz trauert um den langjährigen Förderer des Netzwerks Walter Königshofer, der leider am Samstag den 2.4.2011 verstorben ist. Den Meisten ist er besser bekannt als der Betreiber des südlichsten Standorts in Mitteregg, aber auch in vielen anderen Teilen von Funkfeuer hat Walter tiefe Spuren hinterlassen. Wir werden unseren Freund und Unterstützer sehr vermissen.

-Funkfeuer Graz podpira projekt <a href="http://www.dustmap.org/">Dustmap</a>. Ta skuša sestavljati zbirko sestavnih delov, ki jih potrebujemo za brezžične točke s sensorji, ki jih lahko sestavi vsak. Te točke bodo lahko merile količino finega prahu v zraku, temperaturo, vlago, hrup in druge okoljske dejavnike ter ponudile te podatke javno dostopno. Da bi lahko povezali tudi oddaljene točke, sodeluje Funkfeuer trenutno z ekipo projekta Dustmap pri ustvarjanju zankastega omrežja na podlagi <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6LoWPAN">6LoWPan</a>, kar je namjenjeno povezonvanja teh točk z medmrežjem.

-Konec aprila je državni zbor Avstrije obravnaval osnutek zakona o obvezni hrambi podatakov. Ta osnutek močno presega to, kar zahteva evropska direktiva 2006/24/EG. Če bo ta osnutek sprejet, bodo te podatke v Avstriji uporabljali ne samo v primeru terorizma in podobnih težkih kaznivih dejanj, ampak pri vsakem kaznivem dejanju. Številni strokovnjaki nasprotujejo temu osnutku, kljub temu ga bodo najbrž vseeno sprejeli. Ne sme biti tako, da bodo o vsakem človeku v Avstriji shranjevali vse podatke o tem, kdaj in kje se je s kom pogovarjal.

-Funkfeuer Graz žaluje za dolgoletnim podpornikom omrežja FunkFeuer Walterjem Königshoferjem, ki je umrl v soboto 2. 4. 2011. Večina ga je poznala kot lastnika najjužnejše točke v Mittereggu. Walter je pustil globoke sledi tudi na drugih področjih dela FunkFeuerja. Našega prijatelja in podpornika bomo zelo pogrešali.<br /><br />
